Long story short. The people weren't going to charge me for my Chinese food but I couldn't bring myself to just walk out quietly.

What. The. Hell. Five years ago I would have not only walked out, but insisted they forgot the extra eggrolls.

Now? I stand there like some little joe citizen and remind the first lady that the second didn't charge me.

You should know a couple things here. First, it was like $23. Second, they did have my name but not my phone number or address. Third, they would probably have never known.

But no, I had to bring it up. I think it was because they were speaking Chinese at one point and my suddenly grown conscious was sure the second lady was asking the first if they had charged me.

I don't know how you people do it. How do you walk around doing the right thing? Scary.
